Psalm 46:10b
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (ASV)
Jesus is the very fulfillment of God’s promise in Psalm 46:10b—“I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.” God Himself declares His purpose to be known and honored everywhere, not just in one time or culture. Centuries later, Jesus Christ steps onto history’s stage and embodies that universal exaltation: He lives the sinless life we all fail to live, dies the atoning death we deserved, and rises in triumph so that “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow … and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” (Philippians 2:10-11). In other words, the global glory Psalm 46 anticipates finds its concrete expression in the crucified and risen King.
