PsalmXL Statement of Faith

1. Sola Scriptura – Scripture Alone

We believe the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word of God, the final authority for what we believe and how we live. All traditions, experiences, and insights are tested by—and gladly submit to—Holy Scripture.

2. Solus Christus – Christ Alone

Jesus of Nazareth is eternally God the Son, who took on full humanity, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, offered Himself as the once-for-all sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to the Father, and will return in power and glory. No priest, ritual, merit, or mediator besides Jesus can reconcile us to God.

3. Sola Gratia – Grace Alone

From first to last, salvation is an undeserved gift of God’s sovereign kindness. The new birth, the granting of repentance and faith, our growth in holiness, and our ultimate glorification are all accomplished by His grace, not earned by human effort or worthiness.

4. Sola Fide – Faith Alone

We are justified—declared righteous before God—through faith in Jesus Christ alone. This trust rests entirely on His finished work, not on our works, ceremonies, or moral performance. True faith is evidenced by repentance, obedience, and love, yet these fruits never contribute to our right standing with God.

5. Soli Deo Gloria – To God Alone Be Glory

God created, sustains, redeems, and will consummate all things for His own glory. Therefore, every facet of our worship, service, creativity, and daily vocation aims to exalt the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in:

1. The Triune God
   One God in three co-equal, co-eternal Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—worthy of all honor, obedience, and praise.
   
   

2. Humanity & the Fall
   Made in God’s image yet fallen in Adam, every person inherits a sinful nature and stands in need of redemption. Apart from Christ we are spiritually dead and justly under God’s judgment.
   
   

3. The Gospel
   Christ’s substitutionary death satisfies divine justice; His resurrection guarantees our forgiveness and future resurrection. All who repent and believe are united with Him and receive the Holy Spirit, who indwells and empowers for godly living and witness.
   
   

4. The Church
   The universal Church is the body of Christ, expressed in local congregations devoted to Scripture, prayer, fellowship, the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, mutual service, and gospel mission.
   
   

5. The Consummation
   Jesus will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead, renew creation, and dwell forever with His redeemed people in a restored heavens and earth.

PsalmXL exists to echo that song—proclaiming the unsearchable riches of Christ until the whole earth resounds Soli Deo Gloria.

PsalmXL joyfully confesses that our only hope for life, worship, and eternity is found in Scripture alone, by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone.
